I wanted to formally document the specific testing scope required for the Smart Controller PCB and the Oil Level Sensor.
As agreed, all procedures, criteria, and environmental parameters will strictly comply with IEC 60076-22-1 (Power transformers – Part 22-1: Electrical equipment – Standard accessories).
To ensure full compliance and regulatory safety for these transformer accessories, we will be conducting the following tests within the agreed 3-to-4-day window:
1. Dielectric & Insulation Testing
- Insulation Resistance Test: To verify the integrity of the isolation between active electronic circuits and the chassis/ground.
- Dielectric Test (Withstand Voltage): High-voltage stress test to ensure no electrical breakdown or flashover occurs under standard-defined test voltage levels.
2. Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Immunity Testing
- ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) Immunity Test: To evaluate the sensor and PCB’s resilience against direct and indirect static discharges.
- EFT/Burst (Electrical Fast Transient) Test: To ensure the controller’s electronics remain stable and unaffected by rapid transient spikes on power or signal/telemetry lines.
- Surge Immunity Test: To verify heavy-duty surge protection against high-energy overvoltage events (such as switching transients or simulated lightning surges).
3. Additional Specific Verification (per IEC 60076-22-1)
- Ingress Protection & Environmental Performance: Ensuring the physical enclosures of the sensor/controller maintain their required IP ratings (typically IP66) and operation tolerances under specified transformer ambient and oil temperatures.
- Contact Performance Verification: Ensuring the signal/alarm contacts reliably actuate without chatter or latching failures under normal and high-stress conditions.
