- Measure the thickness of the front fibers layers to see if they have an equal thickness or not.
We have two types of fronts attached to their data sheets:
- MDF base board coated with decorative paper on both sides and lacquered with UV treatment on its front face.
- Wood particle base board coated with decorative paper on both sides.
We are requesting these tests and we are facing a bending issue, especially in the MDF material that we are receiving from the supplier although we used to receive the same material from the same supplier with no bending.
So we doubt that the material composition has been changed somehow.
The supplier justifications the following:
After cutting a section from the front they found the below:
The front covering is 0,347 mm thick and the back covering is 0,547 mm.
This means that there is one kraft paper under the decorative paper on the front side and two kraft papers on the backside. So, this asymmetrical configuration has produced bending over time.
This malfunctioning of the press occurs in a very isolated way affecting one or two boards and it is the reason for those 8 bent pieces.
This explains why you have found 8 bent pieces despite the new packing system.
