Microplastic, Heavy Metals Testing in Qatar

Enquiry:

I am writing to request testing services for heavy metals and microplastics in food samples. I am located in Qatar and would appreciate it if you could provide information on the availability of these services at your laboratory.

Specifically, I am interested in the following:

Heavy Metals Analysis:

 * Techniques: Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) or Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS)

 * Parameters: I would like to test for a range of heavy metals including lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg), arsenic (As), and chromium (Cr).

 * Equipment: Please confirm the availability of suitable ICP-MS or AAS instruments with appropriate detection limits for food analysis.

Microplastics Analysis:

 * Techniques: I am interested in both visual identification and spectroscopic analysis of microplastics.

 * Parameters: I would like to quantify the number of microplastic particles per unit weight of food, as well as characterize the types of polymers present.

 * Equipment: Please confirm the availability of suitable equipment for microplastic extraction, such as filtration systems and digestion apparatus, as well as instruments for spectroscopic analysis, such as Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) or Raman Spectroscopy.

Please provide information on the following:

 * Turnaround time for analysis

 * Cost of analysis per sample

 * Sample preparation requirements

 * Accreditation and certifications held by your laboratory

 Note: 2 samples for Domestic and 2 samples for drinking water is necessary.
