Enquiry:

We require the analysis of four (4) samples of firefighting foam concentrate to verify their suitability in accordance with NFPA 11 requirements (or equivalent). The scope of testing includes the following:

• Visual Appearance (color, sediments, phase separation) – Verification of color, homogeneity, presence of sediments, contamination, or phase separation.

• pH – Measurement of the acidity/alkalinity of the foam concentrate to identify potential chemical degradation.
• Density / Specific Gravity.
• Viscosity.
• Foam Expansion Ratio – Evaluation of the foam generation capability. The test compares the volume of foam produced with the volume of foam solution used to generate it (Expansion Ratio = Foam Volume / Foam Solution Volume).
• Drainage Time (e.g. 25% drainage time) – Measurement of the time required for 25% of the liquid contained in the foam blanket to drain out. Longer drainage times generally indicate more stable foam.
• Foam Stability – Assessment of the ability of the foam blanket to maintain its structure over time without rapid collapse.
• Surface Tension.
