Technical Survey of BWTS System of Vessel at Port Said, Egypt

Enquiry:

We are the technical managers for the vessel in OPL Port Said.

Below are the issues faced by the vessel, request you to kindly go through the same and quote for complete health check of the system.

Please be informed that Ballast water management plant is not in operational for long time.

We have found that BWTS Ballast in system power rectifier unit no 02 PCB is not working. (Need to be replaced)

There is no isolation system while one rectifier unit is not working other unit should do work like techcross and UV light system.

Vessel has rectified the TRO unit power supply system fault.

Suggesting checking the whole system by manufacturer technician is there any other issue or not so that we can proceed to the operation while require.

Metallic Parts Testing in Basra, Iraq

Could you please confirm whether you are able to conduct the chemical analysis of the metallic parts of the New PRODUCED WATER TANK (body, bottom, roof, nozzles)?

The objectives of the analysis are as follows:

Determining the sulfur and phosphorus content to confirm that the carbon steel grade complies with the NACE MR-0175 requirements for materials intended for use in environments containing H₂S.

Performing the analysis using one of the following methods, whichever can be completed more quickly, including the report:

  1. Conducting a detailed chemical analysis with the use of a mobile metal analyzer with argon purging.
  2. Collecting metal shavings from drilled holes made directly on the equipment in areas with identified corrosion damage, followed by laboratory testing.
