Enquiry:
We have requirements for acoustic testing for access panels , please review and confirm the following points to be consider:
- The required acoustic performance is Rw 40 dB.
- The test sample shall be 1600 × 600 mm, 60 x 60mm representing the largest access panel size within the project.
- Please confirm that the tested sample accurately represents the proposed project access panel, including the frame, seals, insulation, and fixing arrangement.
- Please confirm the applicable test standard and the laboratory accreditation.
- Please advise and agree on the recommended test configuration to ensure the results are technically valid and acceptable to the Consultant.
- Please confirm whether the test results obtained for the largest access panel can also be considered applicable to the smaller panel sizes within the project.
- Please confirm the information and results that will be included in the final signed test report.
- Please confirm the expected timeline for issuing both the preliminary and final test results.
In the event that the initial test does not achieve the required Rw 40 dB rating, we would also like confirmation that the laboratory will:
- Assess and identify the reasons for the failure;
- Recommend the necessary modifications or improvements required to meet the specified performance;
- Carry out any required retesting without additional cost.
Kindly also confirm the number of retest cycles included within your proposal.
